SNOWSEEKERS ADD NEW WEB SITE
www.pasnowseekers.com

Did you happen to check us out at our new web site? Our webmasters Jon and Debbie Stahl have a great format going, down to earth, easy and very informative. It's less than a week old, not complete and has already had over one hundred and fifty hits on it. I'm still in awe of the talents contained in our clubs membership. Personally, I would not know where to begin, being a computer dummy, but not so with Jon and Deb. Great job thus far, and I know them well enough that this site will continue to grow and become better by the day. Thanks so much to you two.

They are also in charge of the clubs upcoming Old Forge/Lake Placid trip which will be history when this article appears. One of the features of this trip will occur at Lake Placid, where members will ride bob sleds down the Olympic bobsled track. Wish this old buck could share in this experience, since my son and his wife will be there.

What excites me even more is the fact that these snowmobilers going on this trip, are among the new generation of Snowseekers. It would appear from their enthusiasm that our club is rocketing to bigger and better things. I'm excited--go for it. The torch has been passed.

Meanwhile, back at the clubhouse, some of the elders were busy last weekend manufacturing, installing and lighting a new, "bragger bulletin board" designed for current photos of family, trophy, current events pictures, to back up the lies we tell each other.

Also three new hot air ducts and one cold air were added to the main room. Check out some new oil paintings and framed photos added here and there. You got it right--dog sled pictures along with winter scenes.

We were also looking for an old tape of Winters Ride, and search led us into the kids room which is being modernized by that committee and we got excited about the work going on there. New T.V., VCR, sound system, furniture, and loads of movies for family and children's entertainment. Someone is paying attention to our next-next- generation--time well spent!

The buildings and grounds of the Highland Haven clubhouse all look good. Hope we can get five or six people in the upstairs garage storage, and clean and re-inventory that space. One afternoon of T.L.C. Maybe another nice thing would be to enclose the space next to the clubhouse rear entrance under the shed roof. Possibly a couple double doors to store out-a-site spare tables, benches etc., extra hot water tanks, etc.

That furry little critter from Gobblers Knob at Punxsutawney claims we have six more weeks of winter. SO, lay it on us, WE IS READY!

Another trip we will be reporting on leaves for Maine this month. I'm not aware of their agenda yet, so will have to hear the bragging when they return. Don't even know how many "Seekers" are going. We will talk later! The Ontario trip to Canada leaves tomorrow morning. They figure on a fifteen hundred-mile ride. Have fun gang. Take pictures for the new Bragger Board.

Sandy Mueller and her year book/scrap book committee have been burning the midnight oil, the last couple weeks, producing our ever-thickening 2001 editions, a major production, from what I'm seeing. Looks like our 30th Anniversary Edition will be a goodie!

This week, the Butler Eagle and Pittsburgh's North Hills News will feature the Snowseekers with articles and photos, watch for them later, on our new web site, www.pasnowseekers.com, and in future year books.

For all you "4 wheel" enthusiasts out there, I understand that Ken and Sherri Kelly, of our club, is putting together a bed and breakfast deal at our clubhouse and surrounding club owned properties and local businesses, as a fund raiser to house and feed some of the hundreds of 4 wheelers coming for this forest happening. I overheard it will take place around the middle of May. Ken seemed pretty up on this event, as a boost to our club and the local business people. Again, watch our website. I'm sure he and his wife will update you. Ken doesn't do anything small!

In keeping politically correct, our upcoming elections, May '02, should prove interesting. Some of the aspiring officer material at club level are taking the usual Snowseeker teasing. I'm sure the plot will thicken as the candidates line up their platforms or new decks. Whatever, I'll be there to inject some of my own remarks all meant to be good-natured. How about a "roast" for Rutherford-Richard Hayes? Forget it. I already did. See what I mean?

In closing, take a minute to reflect on 2001. Keep our servicemen and ladies in your heart, along with those lost, our survivors and their families and become more determined as the days pass, to support them. Don't be embarrassed to be patriotic, they earned our help.
