PA SNOWSEEKERS HAVE THE "GIN-JONI'S"

The what? No, its not a disease, but it spreads like one. So what is it? It is they, and they are the PA Snowseekers own Ginny Kline and Joni Eastley who team up to run the Snowseekers charity activities, and what a job they do. Ginny is the mother of four and Joni the mother of five, plus they have the responsibility of being married to Dale and Bill in that order. What job could be more demanding? But then, they need these guys to run them all over the country spending their money, a lot of it, on charitable causes, no matter who or why they are in need. These ladies are plural - "ones of a kind" when it comes to giving. Someone once wrote "you can judge the character of a man by what he does for those who can do nothing in return". If you believe this quote, and I strongly do, these are ladies of character. Ginny is treasurer of the PA State Snowmobile Association, while Joni treasures for the Snowseekers. Someone else said, "Women control the money or wealth". Who would I be to argue?

Ginny helps run Formed Fiberglass, Dale's business. Just last week she underwent open- heart surgery and had to bounce back quickly; doctor's orders. "You must stay in your chair for a couple weeks", so generous Dale grinned and installed her in his office chair where she could be productive while sittin' around. Dale, you're a genius! Wipe that Alfred E. Newman grin off your face.

Joni, on the other hand, doesn't have time to have a heart attack, she's too busy running Bill all over the country getting bargains and buying stuff for charitable causes. I know because most summer Saturdays, while Bill golfs, I have the extreme pleasure of driving Miss Joni around Erie to yard sales. She will bargain for a dime article for herself, but if she finds something PSSA or some needy kid needs, no question, she buys it, then donates it.

These two mothers have something else in common. They mother our club. Aside from charity, they know our bylaws, all our members, weak and strong points, and they put them to use.

AND they are fearless. If it needs said, they will be the first. I'm skirting on the edge of humor, but am most serious in stating they are good for the Snowseekers, PSSA and snowmobiling, and fortunately, they are members of our club. They are easy for us younger guys like me, Dale and Bill to disagree with, but guess "who gonna loose?" Who am I to argue? Seven out of five times, (I can't even do fractions) and Dale and Bill have photographic memories, but ran out of film. Thanks Blue Ribbon Coalition for the reuse of your one liners. The Klines and Eastleys are also charter members of the PA Snowseekers. Maybe this won't buy you a cup of coffee, but it adds up to sixty years of experience.

At this time of the year, Ginny and Joni are busy helping others. Seeing that the elderly have clothing, food and the T.L.C. they so need put these two into high gear. Many is the time the money comes out of their own pocket, right Dale and Bill?

Ginny, for many years, ran our annual Christmas party at her church. It was always a well attended family get together, where we were treated to all the good foods the Snowseeker ladies are so good at, not to mention all the gifts, candies for the kids, gifts for shut ins and food for the needy, all topped off by a visit from "Nick", the bearded one from up north.

Joni, on the other hand, took care along with her collection of faithful lady Snowseeker helpers, whose names I dare not mention for fear of missing some deserving lady, to oversee Franklin Apple Fest Days and Zelienople's Horse Tradin' Days for years; fund raisers for the club and charity.

This duo, the Gin-Joni's, have had us painting playgrounds at children's homes, helping burned out families, the sick and elderly. Joni also for years donated her time in the club's name, making up gift packages of candy, coloring books, slippers and personal needs for kids coming into the hospital.

Ginny also helped her husband Dale found the PA Snowseekers Snowmobile Club, Inc. some thirty years ago, draw up articles of incorporation and serve on and off in most offices and most committees. Ditto with Joni and Bill. I remember when there was a flood in Allison Park where they live out of harms way on top of the hill. They spent the weeks following the flood along with their children, getting new furnaces, hot water tanks, etc. for the victims. Then they spent weeks, every night, installing them for free. These folks have seen it all, done it all, and can't remember most of it!

Their husbands, Dale and Bill, started out with nothing and still have most of it! Course these girls give it to charity.

Thanks girls, those guys would be dangerous if you left them any money!

Some club news: At a recent meeting our board members went over all suggested bylaw suggested updates, corrections and timely changes at the Kaufman House in Zelienople. Also, word was out that Craig Pensy and his son scored each an eight point buck and Ken and Sherry Kelly's daughter, a first time hunter, scored an eight.

Dean Cercone reported a nice profit from the deer season at the clubhouse where he and his helpers do a spaghetti dinner Sunday, steak dinner Monday, roast beef dinner Tuesday and a walleye/perch dinner Friday to kick it off. After serving these delicious morsels to all hunters (club members and public walk ins), the dishes, pots and pans scrubbed along with floors, they pack over one hundred lunches and cook five full breakfasts of eggs to order, sausage, bacon, hot cakes, toast, coffee and all the "fixins". A Snowseeker fund raiser!

Remember the guy I mentioned last month, Harold "Hock" Hocanson? He is there the whole time doin' dishes, cleaning floors, helping cook, etc.

Finally, and last, but not least, remember the victims of 9/11 and their loved ones left behind. Say a prayer in whatever religion or language you can for our service people and all the U.S. leaders that we can jointly get the job done. Hug your loved ones and be nice to someone who doesn't expect it. It could have a ripple affect. Give a little thought to all those who can't snowmobile this year since duty calls!

Remember, he who would terrorize others is destined to live in the ground, in caves, in his own filth, run from righteousness, always watching his back. He will never be free, never know the goodness of the great U.S.A. and when the chips are down, his camel is empty! He will be further destined to dine daily on goats! Hope they are tough, stubborn old goats. He can never share in the feeling of love, freedom. He can never enjoy the beauty of femini nity since he keeps them covered and uneducated and can never feel the thrill of charity or the excitement of riding a snowmobile, or whatever else he would like to choose, and be free to do it when he wants and in most cases where he wants. There are others of his ilk who would keep free people from using their own properties, their forests and other God/nature given things to make an honest living or just play there in awe!

Terror be damned, you did it to yourselves. Get my drift!

And--as a free man, I can write what I want, when I want and where I want, and if some publisher feels like it, he/she can print it and if some other free person wants to, he/she can read it and judge for themselves. Buy it, discard it or wrap the garbage in it, OR use it in the little house out back with the half moon on the door. Feel Free!!

See ya!

The Snowseeker Scribe

P.S. Remember, there is something good in everyone, but this scribe fails to find it in our bearded, goat eatin' cave dwelling terror dealing "Hasen Been Laid" or what ever be his name.
