Snowmobile Safety Courses

Volunteers from our club teach safety courses every year.  Gellner's Sales & Service let's us use their facility to conduct these courses. The PA Snowseeker instructors are: Art Amsler, Craig Pensy, Jerry Mueller, Terri Elliot & Jack Belsterling; Thank you!

Youths between the ages of 10 and 16 must pass a safety course and must carry the certificate with them at all times showing they passed. The course last 8 hours and we usually conduct these courses in the October/November timeframe. Students must take a test and must answer 80% of the questions correctly to pass. We had a record 45 students in our last class!

We will add more information as it becomes available. In the mean time, please contact Art Amsler for more information.

Additional PA Law information

There are 2,000 miles of groomed trails in Pennsylvania. Liability Insurance is mandatory for all snowmobiles. Helmets must be worn by everyone. Roads in the state are not opened unless indicated they are a joint use. They are mainly Township roads in sparsely populated areas. Same rule applies to road shoulders. You may legally ride in ditches. Speed limits are what is posted for that road if it is a joint use road. Trail permits are not required for out of state snowmobilers. Any state that honors PA registration in their state will have their registration honored in PA.
